Best Practices and Local Leadership Program (BLP)
The Institute is member of the Steering Committee of the Best Practices and Local Leadership Program (BLP). The BLP network of leading capacity-building institutions promotes and facilitates the exchange and transfer of experience, expertise, and knowledge for improving the living environment and provides access to some of the world's most innovative and successful solutions to urban problems. The database updated after each Best Practices award cycle includes over 1100 practices of which 341 are Best Practices and 32 are BLP award winners.
The Institute for International Urban Development is committed to identifying, documenting, analyzing and disseminating Best Practices. This information is used in international executive education programs for which which short case studies geared to executive level participants are prepared. The Institute is convinced that the ability to analyze practices and assess their achievements in a structured forum contributes to an informed dissemination of Best Practices.
